About Shayna Baszler
Shayna Baszler is a pro MMA fighter-turned-wrestler who made history when she signed with NXT in 2017 and became the first ever womens champion. She was previously on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate, and studied religion at Nazarene University before beginning her career in mixed martial arts, focusing mainly on jiu-jitsu Muay Thai and catch wrestling. Nicknamed “The Queen of Spades”, Shayna often carries an electric guitar during her fight walkups – quite the sight! Born to Margaret and Skip Braszler from South Dakota, she also played a part in bringing a combat sports athletic commission to the state. Her UFC debut happened back in 2014, but she lost by TKO to Bethe Correia.
