About Sharon Robinson
Sharon Robinson (born March 19, 1958) is an American songwriter known for her prolific career working alongside musician Leonard Cohen. Born in San Francisco, California, Robinson gained recognition for her collaborations with Cohen on hit songs like “Everybody Knows” and “Alexandra Leaving.” She has also written for notable artists such as Diana Ross, Don Henley, and Roberta Flack.
Prior to her music career, Robinson attended Salem College and later pursued studies in music at the California Institute of the Arts. She initially toured with a top-40 band before landing a breakthrough opportunity to sing backup for Leonard Cohen.
In addition to her work with Cohen, Robinson released solo albums including Everybody Knows (2008), Caffeine (2015), and We Were Dreamers ’85 (2021). After growing up in San Francisco, she eventually settled in Los Angeles, California.
