Sharmila Tagore is an Indian movie actress, born on December 8, 1944. She has been recognized with prestigious awards such as Filmfare and National Film Award for her outstanding performances in films like Aradhana and Mausam.
Before rising to stardom, Sharmila attended St. John’s Diocesan Girls’ Higher Secondary School and made her film debut in 1959’s Apur Sansar.
In December 2005, she was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, using her platform to advocate for children’s rights. Sharmila also carries a significant family legacy as the great-great-granddaughter of the renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore.
