Shanthi Lekha, born Rita Irene Quyn on July 1, 1929 in Sri Lanka, was a prolific film actress known for her portrayal of motherly roles in over 350 films. Growing up, she attended Holy Family Convent before embarking on her esteemed career. Notably, Lekha won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Sarasaviya Film Festival in both 1968 and 1969. She was also married to Shanthi Viraj.
