Prior to her career as an astronaut, Lucid spent her formative years in Oklahoma after being born to Baptist missionary parents in China.
Throughout her illustrious career, she embarked on five spaceflights and notably conducted work on the Mir Space Station. Shannon Lucid is married to Michael Lucid and has three children.
