Seyi Shay, born on December 21, 1985 in England, is a prominent World Music Singer known for her contributions to Afropop and R&B. She gained initial recognition as part of the girl group Above before establishing herself as a solo artist with hits like “Loving Your Way” and “Irawo.” In 2014, she received five nominations at the World Music Awards for categories such as Best Song, Best Live Act, and Best Entertainer of the Year.
Before pursuing her music career, Shay attended high school in Nigeria before furthering her studies in London. During this time, she honed her vocal talents by participating in her secondary school choir and performing internationally with the London Community Gospel Choir.
