About Severn Cullis-Suzuki
Severn Cullis-Suzuki is a Canadian environmental activist born on November 30, 1979. She gained international recognition when she was named to the Global 500 Roll of Honor by the U.N. Environmental Programme in 1993. Cullis-Suzuki also appeared in the documentary “Severn, the Voice of Our Children” in 2010.
Before gaining fame as an activist, she attended the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro at the age of twelve and delivered a powerful speech on environmental activism.
Cullis-Suzuki studied evolutionary biology and ecology at Yale University and later established The Skyfish Project, an internet-based environmental think-tank.
She grew up in Vancouver with her writer mother and activist father before settling down with her family in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia.
