About Serita Jakes
Serita Jakes, born on August 19, 1955 in Dallas, Texas, is a non-fiction author and the wife of Pastor TD Jakes of The Potter House. She is affectionately known as First Lady Serita Jakes and has authored books such as The Princess Within and Beside Every Good Man.
Prior to her fame, she studied theatre and mass communications before marrying TD Jakes in 1981. Alongside her husband, she co-founded the Christian preparatory school Clay Academy in 1998. Additionally, she established the God’s Leading Ladies Life Enrichment program and The Potter’s House’s Debutante Program.
Her family life includes five children with TD Jakes: daughters Sarah and Cora, as well as sons Jermaine, Jamar, and Thomas Jr.
