About Senta Berger
Senta Berger (born May 13, 1941) is an acclaimed Austrian stage and screen actress and producer. She is known for her roles including Hester Prynne in the 1973 film version of The Scarlet Letter and Eva in the 1977 movie Cross of Iron.
Berger began her acting career at a young age, performing on stage when she was just four years old. In her late twenties, she became the youngest performer to join Vienna’s Josefstadt Theatre. Throughout her career, she has received numerous honors for her work in acting and film production, including a Goldene Kamera Award, an Adolf Grimme prize, and several Bambi Awards.
She was married to German director Michael Verhoeven with whom she had two children. Her son Simon also pursued a career as an actor.
