Scarlett Curtis, born on June 21, 1995 in the United States, is a writer and activist known for her work in advocating for women’s rights. She achieved recognition for her role as author and curator of the anthology “Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies),” and for her weekly column called “The Gen Z Hit List” in the print edition of the Sunday Times.
Curtis gained further prominence through her establishment of the Free Periods campaign, which seeks to improve global access to feminine hygiene products.
Prior to achieving fame, she spent her early years in the U.K., where she developed a passion for activism and writing. Notably, “Feminists Don’t Wear Pink” included contributions from notable figures such as Kiernan Shipka and Helen Fielding.
Her father is director Richard Curtis, while her mother Emma Freud is a television host who also happens to be Sigmund Freud’s great-great granddaughter.
