Sasheer Zamata is an American actress and comedian best known for her role as a cast member on the comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live from January 2014 to May 2017.
She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 6, 1986, to Ivory Steward and Henry Moore. Her father served as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force.
Zamata earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 2008 before beginning her successful career in entertainment.
In addition to her work in comedy, she has also taken on significant advocacy roles such as being named a celebrity ambassador to the American Civil Liberties Union and contributing to the Women’s Right Project.
