About Sasha Velour
Sasha Velour is a reality star who gained recognition as a contestant on season nine of the Emmy Award-winning series, RuPaul’s Drag Race. Born Alexander “Sasha” Hedges Steinberg on June 25, 1987 in Berkeley, California, she now goes by her stage name Sasha Velour. She studied at the Center for Cartoon Studies and has pursued a career as an illustrator and art director.
In addition to her television appearances, Velour has also hosted the Ignatz Awards. As an only child, she grew up to become a prominent figure in the world of drag and entertainment.
