She was born in Long Island, New York and began her acting career with a major role in the show Everwood. Drew earned a degree in drama from the University of Virginia and started her career by doing voice acting for the animated series Daria while still in high school.
In 2002, she married Peter Lanfer and has two children, a son named Micah and a daughter named Hannah.
