About Sara Ziff
Sara Ziff (born April 15, 1982) is an American model, filmmaker, and labor activist from New York City. She is best known for founding the non-profit organization Model Alliance in 2011 and directing the documentary “Picture Me,” which sheds light on her personal experiences in the modeling industry.
Prior to her career in modeling, Ziff pursued a degree in political science at Columbia University, where she graduated magna cum laude. In addition to her work with models’ rights, she has also been active in advocating for labor rights for garment workers in Bangladesh.
Ziff’s upbringing was rooted in New York City; Her mother worked as a lawyer while her father was a professor at the NYU Medical Center.
