About Sara Douglass
Sara Douglass, born on June 2, 1957 in Australia, was a renowned fantasy novelist known for her work including the Wayfarer Redemption series and The Axis Trilogy. Her novel “The Wounded Hawk” earned her the prestigious Aurealis Award for Fantasy.
Prior to pursuing her passion for writing, Sara worked as a registered nurse before obtaining a Ph.D. in modern English history. She later taught medieval history at La Trobe University, Bendigo.
Sara became widely recognized throughout Australia with the publication of her debut novel, “BattleAxe.” Born Sara Warneke in Penola, South Australia, she was a descendant of psychic Robert James Lees. Unfortunately, despite her achievements, she passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of fifty-four.
