Sandy Brondello, born on August 20th, 1968 in Australia, is a renowned basketball coach known for her impressive achievements in the sport.
Brondello’s coaching career reached new heights when she secured both the WNBA Championship and Coach of the Year award during her inaugural season as head coach of the Phoenix Mercury. Prior to coaching, Brondello also made a name for herself as a legendary shooting guard, representing Australia in four Olympic Games.
Before gaining widespread recognition, Brondello spent her formative years on a sugar cane farm in Mackay, Queensland. Additionally, she enjoyed great success as a player in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League and was honored with the MVP award while playing for the Brisbane Blazers in 1995.
In her personal life, Brondello is married to fellow basketball coach Olaf Lange.
