About Salome Zourabichvili
Salome Zourabichvili, born on March 18, 1952 in Paris, France, is a French-born Georgian politician and former diplomat. She made history as the first woman to be elected as the fifth President of Georgia. Before entering politics, Salome studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and also pursued her education at Columbia University in New York.
In addition to her political career, Salome is multilingual; she speaks Georgian, French and English fluently and has conversational proficiency in German and Italian. She was married to Georgian journalist Janri Kashia and has two children named Kethevane and Teimuraz from her previous marriage to economist Nicolas Gorjestani.
