About Salma Rachid
Salma Rachid (born June 13, 1994) is a Moroccan World Music Singer known for her appearance on the second season of Arab Idol. Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, she gained recognition for her cover of “Aal Bal” by Samira Said, and is often referred to as El Sultana by her fans.
After graduating from high school in 2012, Salma went on to study Economics in college before auditioning for Arab Idol at the age of 18. She performed the song “Ya Moniyati” during the audition and eventually signed a ten-year deal with the Platinum Records label.
Salma Rachid hails from Hay Mohammedi in the Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammedi district of Casablanca.
