About Rosi Mittermaier
Rosi Mittermaier (born August 5, 1950) is a former Alpine skier from Munich, Germany. She gained international acclaim for her impressive performance at the 1976 Olympics where she won three medals: gold in downhill and slalom, and silver in giant slalom.
Prior to her Olympic success, Mittermaier made an early mark in the skiing world by participating in the inaugural World Cup season at just 16 years old. She further solidified her legacy by securing a gold medal in combine alpine skiing at the World Championships that same year.
Outside of her athletic achievements, Mittermaier’s personal life has also been intertwined with skiing; she wed fellow skier Christian Neureuther in 1980, and they welcomed their first child, Felix Neureuther – who went on to become another reputable figure in World Cup skiing – in 1984.
