Rosemary Prinz (born January 4, 1930) is an American actress known for her work in soap operas. She gained fame for her role as Penny Hughes on CBS’s As the World Turns, becoming one of the highest-paid soap opera actresses of the 1950s and 1960s.
Besides her television work, Prinz has also performed on stage, appearing in Broadway productions such as The Grey-Eyed People and Steel Magnolias.
Her career began with a television appearance in 1954 on the soap opera First Love, where she played the wife of Frankie Thomas’s character. Additionally, she starred as Julie Franklin on the short-lived NBC series How to Survive a Marriage.
Born in New York City to cellist Milton Prinz, she was married to fellow actor Michael Thoma before later marrying jazz musician Joseph Patti.
