Rosalind Knight, born on December 3, 1933 in Marylebone, England, is an English actress known for her extensive career spanning over 70 years in stage, television, and film. She is recognized for her role as Beryl on the BBC sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme and has appeared in notable films such as Carry On Nurse (1959), Tom Jones (1963), and The Lady in the Van (2015).
Prior to gaining prominence in acting, Knight studied at The Old Vic theater for two years and initially worked as a stage manager. She notably portrayed a lady-in-waiting in the 1955 Shakespearean drama Richard III with Sir Laurence Olivier and had a role in the popular 2002 film About a Boy.
Knight was married to Michael Elliott with whom she had two daughters named Marianne and Susannah.
