Rory Kennedy, born on December 12, 1968 in Washington, DC, United States, is a documentary filmmaker known for her work as a director. She is the youngest child of U.S. Senator Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy and Ethel Skakel.
Prior to gaining recognition as a filmmaker, she co-founded Moxie Firecracker Films in 1998. This company specialized in documentaries that shed light on pressing social issues.
One of Kennedy’s notable achievements was directing and co-producing Ghosts of Abu Ghraib which won the 2007 Primetime Emmy Award for Best Documentary. Her upbringing was unique as she grew up with 10 brothers and sisters.
