About Ronnie Younkins
Ronnie Younkins, born on December 29, 1958 in Frederick, Maryland, is an American guitarist known for his role as a founding member of the hard rock band Kix. He was also part of the rock band The Blues Vultures.
Younkins earned the nickname “10/10” at a young age due to his habit of setting the volume on his guitar amp as high as possible. His band Kix achieved commercial success with their hit song “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988.
Born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, Younkins continues to make music and contribute to the rock music scene through his guitar work and performances.
