About Robby Naish
Robby Naish is a professional windsurfer and a Professional Windsurfing Association Hall of Fame inductee. He was born on April 23, 1963, in La Jolla, California.
Naish gained international acclaim as one of the first athletes to achieve success in the sport of windsurfing. He secured consecutive Overall World Championships between 1983 and 1987 and was named PWA World Champion in 1988, 1989, and 1991.
Naish’s interest in windsurfing began at the age of 11 while he was living in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. Impressively, he won his first overall World Championship at just 13 years old.
In addition to his accomplishments in windsurfing, Naish became involved in kitesurfing during the 1990s. Notably, he claimed a kiteboarding slalom world title in 1998 alongside winning world titles for both slalom and jumping as a kitesurfer.
Robby Naish comes from a family with ties to water sports; his father is Rick Naish, who was himself a competitive surfer.
