About Rie Fu
Rie Fu is a Japanese folk singer born on January 11, 1985, in Japan. She is best known for her song “Life is Like a Boat,” which served as the ending theme for the popular anime television series Bleach in 2004.
Before gaining fame as a musician, Rie Fu lived in Maryland from 1992 to 1995 and started playing piano. She later returned to Japan and moved to London where she graduated from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with a degree in fine art.
In addition to her music career, Rie Fu also has artwork published under the name Rie Funakosh. She comes from a musical family, with a younger brother who plays a woodwind instrument.
