Rekha, born on October 10th, 1954 in Chennai, India, is a renowned Indian movie actress. She has appeared in popular Hindi films such as Yatra, Khubsoorat, and Umrao Jaan. In 2012 at the IIFA Awards she was honored with the title “Queen of Indian Cinema.”
Prior to her fame, Rekha started her career as a child actress in the 1966 Telugu film Rangula Ratnam. Her talent and screen presence have led to frequent comparisons with legendary actress Greta Garbo.
Rekha comes from a family with ties to the entertainment industry – both of her parents, Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli were well-known film actors. Additionally, she was married to Mukesh Agarwal from 1990 until his death in 1991.
