Born on September 10, 1969, she has gained recognition for her feminine and flirty designs that are sold in stores worldwide. Renowned for her use of color and feminine prints, her work has been embraced by celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon and Rashida Jones.
Prior to gaining fame in the fashion world, Rebecca studied fashion at Wellington Polytechnic and landed one of her early jobs creating costumes for puppets in Peter Jackson’s “Meet the Feebles.” She then made the brave move to New York with just $600 to her name and began working for designer Cynthia Rowley.
In 2011, Rebecca Taylor’s label was acquired by Kellwood Company – an apparel manufacturing company. In terms of family life, she was influenced by a talented seamstress mother who sewed clothing by hand for both herself and Rebecca’s sister during their childhood. Additionally, she is married to Wayne Pate; also worth noting is that Victoria Taylor — her sister — is a jewelry designer who has unveiled her collections at Rebecca’s catwalk shows.
