Ramya Krishnan, born on September 15, 1967 in India, is a prominent Indian film actress known for her extensive work in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. She has won Filmfare Awards for her performances in the movies Padayappa and Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam. Additionally, she received Nandi Awards for her roles in Kante Koothurne Kanu and Raju Maharaju.

Krishnan began acting at the age of thirteen and also studied dance during her early years. Her first leading role was in the film Vellai Manasu. Notable trivia includes starring alongside V. Ravichandran in two major Kannada films: Gadibidi Ganda and Mangalyam Thanthunanaena.She is married to director Krishna Vamsi and they have a child named Ritwik.

Ramya Krishnan’s uncle is Cho Ramaswamy, a renowned Indian comedian.
