Rakhee Gulzar, born on August 15, 1947 in Nadia, India, is an award-winning Hindi and Bengali actress who gained prominence in the Indian film industry during her career from 1967-2003. With a filmography of over 90 movies, she established herself as one of the leading actresses.

Prior to her acting career, Rakhee entered into an arranged marriage with Ajoy Biswas in 1963 but divorced in 1965. She made her debut in films in 1967 and went on to win numerous awards including Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

In 1973 she married Indian director Gulzar with whom she had a daughter.
