Rachel Roberts was an English movie actress, born on September 20, 1927. She is best known for her touching portrayal of Margaret Hammond in the film “This Sporting Life,” which earned her an Oscar nomination.
Before pursuing a career in acting, Roberts attended the University of Wales and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to hone her skills.
Tragically, Rachel Roberts passed away at the age of 53. Following her death, her ashes were scattered across the River Thames in London alongside those of her close friend Jill Bennett. After divorcing Rex Harrison in 1980, she died by suicide from a drug overdose.
