Rachel Nichols (born January 8, 1980) is an American actress and former fashion model. Born in Augusta, Maine, she is best known for her role as Rachel Gibson in the final season of the television series Alias. Nichols also portrayed Gaila, Uhura’s roommate, in the 2009 film Star Trek and appeared in The Amityville Horror in 2005.
Prior to her acting career, Nichols had aspirations of becoming a Wall Street analyst. She graduated from Columbia University with a double major in math and economics before pursuing modeling and acting.
