About Rachel Brown Finnis
Rachel Brown Finnis is an English soccer player, born on July 2, 1980. She gained recognition as a goalkeeper and is commonly known by her maiden name of Brown. In 2003, she joined the Everton Ladies team.
Prior to her career in soccer, she became a goalkeeper because the boys in her school refused to let her play any other position. This challenge led her to excel in the position and pursue it professionally.
In her late teens, Rachel made a significant decision to leave England and relocate to the United States due to what she perceived as a more progressive attitude towards women’s soccer there.
Outside of her sports career, she married professional golfer Ian Finnis in 2008.
