Rachel Brathen, born on October 5, 1988 in Uppsala, Sweden, is a New York Times Bestselling author and yoga instructor. She gained fame through her immensely successful book Yoga Girl which has been sold worldwide. Rachel’s blog and Instagram feed have attracted over 1.9 million dedicated followers.
After completing school in Stockholm, she moved to Costa Rica to pursue her passion for yoga before settling in Aruba in 2010 where she began teaching yoga full time. On her self-titled website, she offers both online and in-person yoga classes including Sup Yoga – a unique method performed on a paddle board.
Rachel comes from a family with strong ties to wellness and blogging; her mother Shama Persson runs the blog Selflove & Support while her sister Emelie also shares an interest in this field. In 2014, Rachel married Dennis Schoneveld with whom she has a daughter named Luna.
