Queen Sonja of Norway Feet

Queen Sonja of Norway, born on July 4, 1937 in Oslo, Norway, is widely known as the Queen consort of Norway. She assumed this title in January 1991 following the death of King Olav V and is married to King Harald V of Norway. Notably, she became Norway’s first Queen consort in 52 years.

Prior to her royal duties, Queen Sonja studied accounting, social science, and fashion design at the Ecole Professionnelle des Jeunes Filles in Switzerland. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in French, English, and art history from the University of Oslo.

In recognition of her contributions to the Olympic movement, she received the prestigious Golden Olympic Order in 1994. Additionally, she has served as a Rear Admiral in the Royal Norwegian Navy.

In 1968, she married King Harald and together they have two children: Haakon Crown Prince of Norway and Princess Martha Louise.
