Priscilla Pointer, born on May 18, 1924 in New York City, New York, is a prominent TV actress known for her role as Rebecca Barnes Wentworth on the popular show Dallas. She also gained recognition for her appearances in the 1976 film Carrie and the 1981 film Mommie Dearest.
Before rising to fame, Pointer had her first starring TV role as Adrienne Harris Rainey on Where the Heart Is. Notably, she played the onscreen mother of Amy Irving, her real-life daughter, in several films including Carrie, Honeysuckle Rose and Carried Away.
In terms of personal life Priscilla was married to Jules Irving from 1947 until his death in 1979 with whom she shared three children.
