Polly Bergen was an American actress and business entrepreneur, born on July 14, 1930 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She gained prominence as the star of her own TV show and appeared in the film Cape Fear. Additionally, she starred in the television show Playhouse 90.
Before her acting career took off, Bergen sang professionally on radio and made her debut as a singer in the 1949 film Champion. She also had the opportunity to work alongside Gregory Peck in Cape Fear.
In terms of personal life, Bergen adopted two children – Pamela and Peter – with Freddie Fields during their marriage from 1956 to 1973. Prior to this relationship, she was married to Jerome Courtland from 1950 to 1955 and later tied the knot with Jeffrey Endervelt from 1982 to 1990.
