About Pilar Montenegro
Pilar Montenegro, born on May 31, 1972 in Mexico City, is an award-winning Mexican pop singer and actress. She gained fame with her multi-Platinum album Desahogo released in 2001. In addition to her singing career, she has also proven herself as an actress with notable roles such as Sulema Chavez on the popular telenovela Marisol.
Montenegro’s career began at a young age when she landed her first major acting role at ten years old on the series Juguemos A Cantar. Her talent and success continued to grow as evidenced by her win of the Billboard Latin Music Award for Latin Pop Airplay Track of the Year for “Quitame Ese Hombre” in 2003.
In her personal life, Montenegro married Joao Pedro Oliveira Cruz in 2014.
