Phyllis Logan, born on January 11, 1956 in Scotland, is a well-known TV actress. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Mrs. Elsie Hughes in the popular ITV and PBS series Downton Abbey. Additionally, she won a BAFTA Award for her role as Janie in the 1983 film Another Time, Another Place.
Before rising to fame, Logan underwent training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in the 1970s and began her career performing with the Dundee Repertory Theatre.
In addition to her notable roles on screen, Logan has made a guest appearance on an episode of Bones in 2014. Her personal life includes marriage to fellow stage and screen actor Kevin McNally, with whom she shares a son named David.
