Pete Burns, born on August 5, 1959, in Port Sunlight, England, was an English pop singer known for his international hit “You Spin Me Round” with the band Dead or Alive. He founded Dead or Alive in 1980 at the age of twenty-one and had been a member of Mystery Girls and Nightmares in Wax prior to that. In addition to his music career, he gained recognition after appearing on the 2006 season of Celebrity Big Brother.
Burns was married to Lynne Corlett from 1978 to 2006 and then briefly married Michael Simpson from 2007 until 2008.
