About Peg Kehret
Peg Kehret is a children’s author known for her best-selling works such as The Volcano Disaster, Earthquake Terror, and I’m Not Who You Think I Am. Born on November 11, 1936 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Kehret has won over fifty state young reader awards for her books. Before gaining fame as an author, she battled polio at the age of twelve and spent nearly a year hospitalized. Her memoir titled Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio received the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children’s Book Award in 1998.
Kehret has also made significant contributions to her personal life by adopting two children named Bob and Anne with her husband, Carl Kehret. She resided with her family first in California before later moving to Washington.
