Pauline Black, born on October 23, 1953 in England, is a British singer and actress. She is well-known for her role as the lead singer of the band The Selecter, which debuted with “Too Much Pressure” in 1980.
Prior to her successful music career, Black attended Coventry Polytechnic where she studied biochemistry and trained as a radiographer.
In addition to her musical accomplishments, she also released an autobiography titled “Black by Design” in 2011.
Black’s family history includes being born to an Anglo-Jewish mother and Nigerian father before being adopted by a white couple.
