About Patti LuPone
Patti LuPone (born April 21, 1949) is an acclaimed stage actress hailing from Long Island, New York. She is best known for her award-winning performances in the Broadway musicals Evita and Gypsy. Her extensive Broadway credits also include Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sunset Boulevard, The Cradle Will Rock, and Anything Goes.
LuPone earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Juilliard in 1972 before making her Broadway debut in a 1973 production of Three Sisters. In addition to her theater work, she appeared in the film State of Main in 2000 as Sherry Bailey.
In 1988, LuPone married filmmaker Matthew Johnston and they welcomed their son Joshua two years later.
