About Patricia Wrede
Patricia Wrede, born on March 27, 1953 in Illinois, is a renowned novelist known for her captivating fantasy fiction series such as Lyra, Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Cecelia and Kate, Frontier Magic, and Magic and Malice. In addition to her original works, she gained recognition for her young adult novelizations of Star Wars: Episodes I, II, and III.
Prior to her literary success, Wrede obtained a degree in Biology from Carleton College followed by an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Before pursuing writing full-time, she worked as an accountant.
Wrede holds the distinction of being a founding member of The Scribblies; a fantasy writers’ group formed in the early 1980s. She was raised in Chicago and later settled in Minneapolis where she adopted two cats. Outside of her writing career she also spent time with her eight nieces and nephews.
