Patricia Schroeder, born on July 30, 1940 in Oregon, is a prominent Democratic politician who represented Colorado’s 1st congressional district in the US House of Representatives from 1973 to 1997.
Before her political career, she earned her law degree from Harvard Law School in 1964 and subsequently worked for the National Labor Relations Board.
Schroeder holds the distinction of being the first woman elected to Congress from Colorado in US history. Throughout her political journey, her husband Jim served as one of her key advisors.
