About Patrice Rushen
Patrice Rushen (born September 30, 1954) is a musician and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. She is known for writing “Forget Me Nots,” the hit song in 1982 that earned her a Grammy nomination.
Before her musical success, Rushen graduated from Locke High School in South Los Angeles and went on to earn a music degree from the University of Southern California.
In addition to her solo career, she also served as musical director for the 46th, 47th, and 48th Annual Grammy Awards. In 1986, she married music manager/producer Marc St. Louis and they have a son named Cameron.
