Pat Barker Feet

Pat Barker, born on May 8, 1943 in England, is an English novelist known for her historical fiction works. Some of her notable books include Blow Your House Down and The Regeneration Trilogy, which was named one of the 10 best historical novels by The Observer in 2012. Her award-winning writing often revolves around themes such as memory, trauma, survival and recovery.

Prior to gaining success as a writer, Barker studied international history at the London School of Economics. In recognition of her contributions to the arts and sciences, she was appointed to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2000.

Barker is married to David Barker with whom she has two children; their daughter Anna Ralph has also pursued a career as a novelist.
