About Paloma San Basilio
Paloma San Basilio is a legendary World Music Singer born on November 22, 1950 in Madrid, Spain. She was awarded a Latin Grammy for Lifetime Excellence in Spanish music and represented Spain in the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest. Before her retirement in 2013, she enjoyed decades of success after starting her career in the 1970s.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Paloma studied philosophy and psychology at Complutense University of Madrid. She then began her career hosting the show Siempre en domingo and acting in Divertido siglo.
A successful stage actress as well, Paloma took on the title role in the Spanish-language adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita. She has also starred in numerous other musicals throughout her career.
In terms of family life, she was briefly married to athlete Ignacio Gomez Pellico in the 1970s before beginning a relationship with businessman Claudio Rey. Paloma has one daughter named Ivana Gomez.
