About Paige Smith
Paige Smith, born on April 27, 1982 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a multi-disciplinary artist and graphic designer professionally known as ‘A Common Name.’ Her most notable work includes the creation of the street art series Urban Geode, which features sculptures made entirely out of paper and resin casts. This project has led to collaborations with companies such as The Standard, Hollywood and The Viper Room.
Prior to gaining recognition for her street art, Smith worked as a graphic designer in San Francisco where she created marketing materials for major companies including MTV, PayPal and ABC.
In 2016, she was recognized as one of the most significant up-and-coming street artists to watch. Smith was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and grew up in Texas. She earned her BFA in design communications at Texas Tech University.
