About Olubanke King Akerele
Olubanke King Akerele is a Liberian politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2007 to 2010. She was born on May 11, 1946 in Liberia and is the granddaughter of Liberia’s 17th president, Charles D. B. King.
Prior to her political career, Akerele studied at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and later graduated from Brandeis University. In 2007, she replaced veteran diplomat George Wallace as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
