About Olga Sviblova
Olga Sviblova (born June 3, 1953) is a Russian director, curator, and arts administrator best recognized for founding the Moscow House of Photography, also known as the Multimedia Art Museum of Moscow. She has curated the national pavilion of Russia at the Venice Biennale.
Prior to her fame in the art world, Sviblova graduated from Moscow State University with a major in Psychology before pursuing her PhD in research psychology in the arts. In 1980 she began shooting documentaries and organized her first major art exhibition in 1987.
Sviblova has earned several international honors and awards including the Order of Friendship in 2007 in Russia, Chevalier and Officer of Legion d’Honeur in 2008, and Order of Merit in Italyin2011. She was born and raisedinMoscow,Russia.
